Upholster a Stool with a Padded Seat in this Workshop for Beginners
And start to learn the craft of upholstery
THE STOOL FRAME
The stool frame is a modern, finished frame made of birchwood. It looks great as it is, or paint it in a colour when you get home.
The frame is 45cm high, and the seat is 45cm by 29cm.
HALF WAY THROUGH
You'll learn how to build up layers of comfy and durable padding with a calico cover. Then secure it all to the stool using a variety traditional and modern tools, including a magnetic upholstery hammer, tacks and a staple gun.
FINISHED STOOL PAD
Finally, you'll cover the stool pad with your own choice of top fabric, create neat corners and finish with a back lining. Everyone leaves with a completed stool! Past attendees have used stools for  bedrooms or sitting rooms, for kids, as gifts, as sewing stools...

STOOL FRAME & MATERIALS
The stool frame and all the padding and materials needed to create the padded seat are included in the workshop cost.
LOTS OF HELP & GUIDANCE!
Each workshop has a maximum of seven students to ensure that everyone gets plenty of individual attention to help complete their stool.
WHAT TO BRING WITH YOU
The only thing that you need to bring with you is your chosen top cover fabric, unless you prefer to pick a piece from our remnants on the day. The fabric that you choose must be suitable for furniture upholstery - we will send you further information when you book your place.
The workshop starts at 10am and finishes around 2pm/2.30pm.

MINIMUM AGE - 14 YEARS
This workshop is suitable for young people provided they are 14 years old or over.
We can also cater for private groups of friends or family. Please use the Contact Us button if you have a forthcoming date in mind (Upto 8 participants, minimum 5).
