2026 TIMETABLE - COURSES
The Upholstery Yard offers leisure classes daytime and evening in 6 or 12-week terms (sometimes 5 week terms arise due to calendar dates), intensive sessions, and Experience Days. We cater for: complete beginners interested in starting upholstery as a new pastime; intermediates who want to further their skills; hobbyists and students who want to finish existing projects; and crafters interested in learning new skills. Attendees work at that their own pace in a relaxed and friendly environment.

INTENSIVE - 3 DAY UPHOLSTERY WORKSHOP
(Thurs - Sat) 16 - 18 July, 10am - 4.30pm
(Thurs - Sat) 23 - 25 July, 10am - 4.30pm
Fee £360 (excludes costs for materials used)
This workshop is for beginners or intermediates - anyone who would like to get on with a project over 3 days. From 10am to 4.30pm.
You work on consecutive days to consolidate upon skills learnt and progress with your project. In addition, you leave your project on your dedicated workstation so you can crack on each day without delay. There's plenty of guidance on hand throughout the day and you'll have access to all the tools and materials necessary for your project.
STOOL SATURDAY WORKSHOPS - EXPERIENCE DAY
10AM -2.30/3PM
Price is per person, includes taxes and stool costs (excludes top fabric).

Make something unique - and useful!
A beginner's workshop where you learn the upholstery skills to create an upholstered padded top for a stool. Stool and materials included. Just bring your own choice of top fabric and make something special for yourself or a gift.

TRADITIONAL LAMPSHADE - WORKSHOP BASICS IN A DAY

Fee £120 (includes choice of 2 shade frames)
This workshop is for beginners or intermediates - anyone who would like to learn the basics to create a traditional lampshade. No sewing skill necessary, just a passion to learn. You have an option of two shapes - scallop or bowed empire. This is not a drum lampshade workshop.
You will learn the basic skills required to cover a lampshade frame. There are two options on the shapes of shades provided. You only need to bring a piece of fabric and lunch - details provided on booking form. There's plenty of guidance on hand throughout the day and you'll have guidance to complete the project at home.
