About this traditional lampshade workshop day

In a small class of students, you'll learn traditional skills and techniques to make a fabric cover and attach it neatly to the frame to create your own individual and unique lampshade. This includes binding the frame and making a template for the fabric. Then, cutting out and machine sewing the fabric cover, pinning it and keeping it taut on the frame. You'll learn to securely hand-sew the cover in place and how to make and attach a bias trim or how to fix in place cord, braids or a fringe.

LAMPSHADE FRAME & MATERIALS

The lampshade frame is included in the workshop cost. There is a choice of two shades.

WHAT TO BRING WITH YOU *

The only thing that you need to bring with you is your chosen top cover fabric - and a packed lunch.  The fabric that you choose must be suitable for a lampshade - we will send you further information when you book your place.

The workshop starts at 10am and finishes around 5pm.

You may not finish all the sewing in a day, but you'll know how to continue and make the finishing touches at home!
